Announcing the Inaugural Season of the Massachusetts Modern Music Retreat!

We are proud to announce the first season of the Massachusetts Modern Music Retreat! 13 emerging performers and composers from around the United States will meet this August in Townsend, MA for a creative summer intensive, bringing newly written works to life and enriching the musical tapestry of Central Massachusetts.

This project is started by four friends and collaborators, Noemi Bender, Timothy Coffey, Kellen Ko, and Ethan Pinckert. Inspired by our shared passion for new music and a desire to create an accessible, affordable summer educational experience, MMMR is free to all festival participants. Performers and composers work closely over 12 days, culminating in performance premieres and high-quality recordings to support each participant's professional portfolio. Our community concerts will be pay-what-you-can, opening our doors to every member of our audience.

We are currently in the process of raising funds to cover expenses such as flight, housing, food, and audiovisual production. While we are in the process of applying for local grants, please consider donating to our GoFundme!
